Bands such as Vancouver’s Tough Age, Toronto’s Weaves, Halifax’s Dog Day, and others sound as though they throw caution to the wind during every take and just go for it. I love their sense of abandon. Sometimes they deliver their songs through hazy, though biting distortion, other times with full-on yelps run through trashy amps.
